Charles George White

Charles George White

August 20, 1932 to September 30, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear father Charles George White on September 30th, 2026. Charles was born at Woodslee, Essex County, Ontario on August 20, 1932. His parents were Ada P. White ( nee Rose) and George White. He was the seventh child in his family. Charles was predeceased by his six siblings: Alvin ( Olive) White, Grace Baker, Bruce (Ellen) White, Fred ( Daisy) White, Hazel (Jim) Wardell, and Dora Welch.

Charles began his career as most do with odd jobs and a short, one year position as a millwright at the Temiskaming sawmill. At 18 years old, his family had electricity installed in their home. This fascinated Charles, who would go on to study and become a licensed electrician. He worked at his trade for over 67 years. His career first began with Kelly’s Heating and Plumbing, where he soon became lifelong friends with Mike and Olga Kelly, as well as Al and Norma Johnson. After many years, Charles went onto work with KVC electric for a year. This inspired him to strike out on his own and create White’s Electric in 1967. He soon became known to all as Chuck White. A man of integrity, high-quality work with the gift to gab. He loved working and learning anything new.

Charles married the love of his life , Celina Marie Turcotte on November 23, 1953 at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption Church. He is survived by their three children: Stephen (Liz) White, Christine (Ronald) Bellaire and Cathryn (Paul) McGirr and seven grandchildren: Bradley (Ashley) White, Derek (Tracey) White, Gregory ( Casey) White, Dennis (Stacey) Degagne, Candace McGirr, Devin (Tessa) McGirr and Gavin McGirr. Charles has seven great grandchildren: Ewen, Vanessa, Abigail, Nora, Quinn, Rowan and Gwen as well as several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlie, as he is officially known to his family, leaves behind his best friend and companion Charlotte ( Lottie) Pinkerton. They enjoyed attending dinners and dances at the Callander Royal Canadian Legion and North Bay Golden Age Club - both of which Charles held a membership at.

Charles was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and for years the Treasurer of the Seniors Club where he and his wife lived.
