Charles Robbins
It is with heavy hearts and enduring love that we announce the passing of Chuck and Shelley Robbins, a dynamic duo whose lives were defined by love, laughter, shared passions, and a delightful, stubborn streak that was uniquely their own. They approached life with a joyous spirit and an unwavering commitment to each other and their family.
Shirley “Shelley” Ann Robbins (née Cooper) - The Avid Gardener
November 9, 1938 - May 28, 2022
Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Shelley filled the world with beauty, much like the gardens she so lovingly tended. Her green thumb was matched only by her warm heart and fun-loving nature. Shelley was a long standing member of the Heritage Gardeners and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, being dedicated to the community. She passed away in 2022, in North Bay, Ontario, predeceased by her beloved parents, Harry and Ethel Cooper (Ennis), and her brothers, Murray L. Cooper (Janet) and Wayne E. Cooper (Louise).

Charles "Chuck" Edgar Robbins - The Dedicated Teacher
November 17, 1938 - November 21, 2025
Chuck, born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, brought education and a strong, spirited personality to every classroom he entered. His commitment to his students was well-known, as was his determined, stubborn nature that earned both respect and smiles. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on November 21, 2025, in North Bay, Ontario, just after his 87th birthday, predeceased by his parents Horace E. and Betty I. Robbins (MacDonald), sister Elizabeth I. Robbins, and brother Donald L. Robbins.
Together, Chuck and Shelley shared an incredible journey. They moved from Timmins, Ontario, and retired to North Bay in 1999, embracing the outdoors and their shared love for adventure. Their life was a blend of gardening, fresh air, and, most importantly, family. Though they passed away several years apart, their spirits remain intertwined in our hearts.
They are survived by their son, David K. Robbins, and their only, cherished granddaughter, Megan J S Robbins (John), who they spoiled with abundant affection.
They will be fondly remembered by their nephew Aaron Robbins (Cathy), nieces Sherry and Ann Cooper, great-nieces Sam and Ali Robbins, godchildren Jen and Laura Needham and Scott Needham, and former daughter-in-law MJ Bertrand-Robbins.
Chuck and Shelley will be remembered as a couple who knew what they wanted, lived life on their own terms, and loved fiercely. While their love was legendary, their joy and warmth were the qualities that truly left a lasting impression on everyone they met. They will be deeply missed.
In keeping with Chuck and Shelley's simple, loving spirits and their personal wishes, there will be no formal visitation or public service.
Following cremation, their urns will rest together just as they would have wanted at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in their memory to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation.
