CIBC Run for the Cure raised 125K & counting

Sunday's CIBC Run for the Cure raised over $125,000 and counting.

Officials say money will still be coming in from other events, including an upcoming Battalion game.

On Oct. 17, the North Bay Battalion will wear pink warm-up sweaters, with all proceeds from the jersey auction supporting Kevin’s walk for the cure.

Country 90.5 FM morning host Kevin Oschefski completed his 129 km walk for the cure from Sudbury to North Bay early Friday afternoon.

The latest online tally shows he raised over $46,000.

On Sunday, Oschefski was named the Run’s first place run day determination award winner as top fundraiser.

Rhonda Croghan won the second place run day determination award while Amanda Etches was third.

Nationally, over 55,000 participants and volunteers across 53 communities came together at the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, raising more than $15 million for those affected by breast cancer.
