Clean, Green, Beautiful Starting this Season's Green Initiatives

Clean, Green, Beautiful North Bay is excited to announce they have started their green initiatives this season,and our contribution to greening the city expanding the tree canopy. CGB will continue their efforts to green schoolyards in the North Bay area.

Already this season, CGB in collaboration with North Bay Hydro, donated trees to Vincent Massey Public School, and Silver Birches Public School. Last week, Vincent Massey received oaks and maple trees, and Silver Birches were given maple and birch trees. These trees will be used for educational purposes to help students understand how to properly care for a tree and why tree planting is important.

To continue their sustainability and education initiatives, 6 fruit trees were planted at St Alexander Catholic Elementary School on May 21st. Students gained hands-on experiences planting trees and will be able to watch the trees grow with them throughout their school years. Since 2020, a total of 14 orchards are thriving in our community. 13 of the orchards have been sponsored by Canadore College. T

he CGB team continues to assist local community gardens in preparing their spaces for spring planting. The team assisted Northern Pines Transitional Housing last week. Students and teachers at Sunset Park also joined the CGB team to clean up their front garden space.

CGB is looking forward to completing more clean, green and beautiful projects this season, as we prepare for the Communities in Bloom National Competition. Judges will be arriving July 22 to 24, 2025.
