Community invited to World Autism Awareness Day

Community invited to World Autism Awareness Day

By Richard Coffin

One Kids Place (OKP) is hosting an event this weekend recognizing World Autism Awareness Day, which was April 2.

The Children’s Treatment Centre is teaming up with Canadore College’s ATHLeadership students for Saturday’s event, which runs from 9-11 am.

Families, children, and youth are invited to a fun-filled morning, featuring interactive games, engaging activities, and opportunities to connect with others in our community.

Officials say the free, community-wide event is designed to create a welcoming space where children and families can celebrate, play, and learn.

Autism Services staff will be available to answer questions and provide information on various therapies and programs that support children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
