Councillor motions focus on Cassellholme and off-road vehicles
A couple of Cassellholme-related motions are coming up at next Tuesday’s council meeting.
One calls on council to reaffirm Chris Mayne and Mark King as city representatives on the Cassellholme Board and reject the long-term care home board’s request for their replacement.
The other motion calls for Cassellholme board chair Dave Mendicino to appear before council at its next meeting to explain a number of board actions, including the removal of King and Mayne.
Off-road vehicles are the subject of another councillor motion.
It calls for a report and recommendations on whether to allow for increased road and highway use in urban and rural sections of the city.
The motion states there are many new and improved off-road vehicles in the Ontario market, and several communities in the north are allowing them on some, if not all, of their municipal roadways.
