Critical Issues Homelessness -NOLUM

The five large urban mayors in Northern Ontario are gathering in North Bay on Friday.   

They’ll be discussing what officials say are a range of critical issues impacting the region.   

Included are the mayors of North Bay, Greater Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay. 

“This group regularly collaborates to address shared challenges and to advocate for policies and resources that support the well-being and economic vitality of northern Ontario,” states an advisory.  

Meantime, one item on next week’s council agenda is a motion to support Ontario’s Big City Mayors’ “Solve the Crisis” campaign.   

If approved, the city would add its voice to those calling for immediate and decisive action from the province to address the escalating homelessness crisis.
