CROSS, Catherine "Kitty" (née Walsh)

CROSS, Catherine "Kitty" (née Walsh)

Unexpectedly passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the age of 68.

Catherine, affectionately known as "Kitty" to many who loved her, was the beloved wife of Matthew Cross and the devoted mother of Calvis Cross (Michelle), Matthew Cross (Megan), and Catherine "Katie" Cross (Joseph). She was the cherished grandmother of John, Andrew, Josie, and Austin, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Catherine is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Donna (Ken) and Tania (David), as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Calvis Walsh and Susan (née McLeod) Walsh.

To know Catherine was to know kindness. She possessed a remarkable ability to care for others, always putting the needs of family and friends before her own. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and hospitality, and no one ever left her table hungry. She found happiness in caring for those she loved and made everyone feel like family.

Her love reached far beyond her immediate family. Catherine was deeply devoted to her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, nurturing lifelong relationships that meant so much to her. Her warmth, laughter, and compassionate spirit touched countless lives from coast to coast across Canada. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, generous heart, and the way she made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

As per Catherine's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be two services held at a later date: one in Timmins in the Fall, and she will be laid to rest at St. Patrick's Cemetery Miramichi, New Brunswick in the Spring. Service dates will be announced.

If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com.
