Dale Wilson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Wilson on December 27th, 2025, in North Bay at NBRHC with family by his side. Dale was a devoted partner and stepfather whose quiet strength and unwavering care touched the lives of everyone around him.
Born on August 22, 1947, in St. Thomas. He leaves behind his beloved partner and love of his life of 32 years, Louise Gilpin, with whom his life was deeply intertwined. Together, they shared countless joys with their loyal dog Beau, from dreaming up home projects to nurturing their family. Dale was a steadfast provider and helper, always stepping in to support Louise Gilpin (Pharand), his stepson Daniel Gilpin, his stepdaughter Krystle Gilpin (Mike Favretto) whenever needed. He recently reconnected with his son, Mark Wilson, and is also remembered by his daughters, Emily and Sarah. Dale is also survived and fondly remembered by his lifelong friend, Bill Pigram.
Dale's love extended to his grandchildren, Rome and Erich, for whom he built a cherished treehouse—a testament to his hands-on spirit and the joy he found in creating lasting memories. An outdoor enthusiast, Dale delighted in yard work and tackling property projects alongside Louise, finding peace and purpose in the simple rhythms of home life. He was also a passionate music lover, with a deep appreciation for jazz, as well as artists like Eric Clapton, the Eagles, and Willie Nelson whose melodies often filled his nights. He also played keyboard in the band Friendly Persuasion in the 70’s. Professionally, Dale retired as a psychiatric nurse after 22 years of dedicated service.
In recent times, Dale mourned the loss of his faithful dog, Buddy, a companion he held dear. His passing leaves a profound void in our hearts and lives—one that we will struggle to fill. Dale's legacy of kindness, reliability, and quiet devotion will endure in the stories we share and the love he inspired.
Cremation has taken place at his request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to animal welfare organizations or the Humane Society.
