Dangerous Driver Nearly Strikes Three Students
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a dangerous incident at a local high school.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. on October 31, 2025, a 2025 Grey Volkswagen Jetta was observed travelling at a high rate of speed through the back parking lot of St. Joseph’s Scollard Hall. The driver then turned left onto McLeod Street, nearly striking three students and a pole before fleeing the scene.
“Driving behaviours demonstrated in this video are unacceptable, and quite frankly criminal in nature. We are grateful the students are in good health but this incident could have been catastrophic,” said Inspector McFarlane. “Our members are fully committed to this investigation and will work to find this suspect and bring them to justice. Incidents like this highlight the importance of community safety zones in protecting our children while they are at school, and we continue to urge drivers to exercise extreme caution in these areas, pedestrians to always stay alert, and to report unsafe behaviour.”
The NBPS is asking anyone with information that may assist in identifying the suspect to contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-472-1234 (non-emergency line).
Investigators are also requesting that anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the incident review their recordings and contact police if relevant footage is found.
For those wishing to remain anonymous, tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at nearnorthcrimestoppers.com.
Your assistance can make a meaningful difference in this investigation.
