It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, Dad, and Pépère on August 12th, 2024, at the young age of 66.
Dan was the proud husband of Lise (nee Chayer); they were two weeks short of celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary. Dad to Christopher (Mélodie), Claude (Archange), Marc, Luc (Predeceased), Patrick (Nat). Loving Pépère to Faith, Alex, Emily, Adrian, Hayden, Noah, Myriam, Nicolas, Myreille, Emery and Remi. Many others wished to call him Pépère. Raised in Corbeil, he was the son of Maurice and Jacqueline (predeceased), loved brother to Juliette (Louis), Roselle Labreque, his twin (Marcel predeceased), Jeanette (Jules), Raymond, his favourite music partner (Micheline), Gilles (predeceased).
He also leaves behind his extended family of in-laws on the Chayer side and many nephews and nieces, especially his brother-in-law Mike McNeil, his hunting and fishing partner with whom he shared many memories.
Raised in Corbeil/Astorville, Dan learned many traditions, which he carried with him over the years and instilled in his family. He was a vivid outdoors teacher, whether fishing, hunting, or spending time at the sugar shack. He did everything with great pride. He was happy that his kids and grandkids lived on the family property and shared his passions with him. He was always someone we could rely on and go to for advice without any judgment.
We will forever cherish our long talks at the camp and when he would take out his fiddle to play. As a young adult and father, he tried to make his place from Chapleau to Mattawa till he settled back to his roots in East Ferris and built his forever home.
Dan worked at RONA for over 25 years and developed many friendships. He had a great personality, and people found it easy to converse with him.
We will carry his memories and teaching with us forever. He was a blessing to all who knew him. Keep an eye on us till we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the East Ferris Oldtyme Fiddle Club, where he enjoyed many evenings amongst friends doing what he loved.
