Letter to the Editor

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you all for your efforts in bringing the new freshwater pool to our community, at the Birchaven Cove.

The addition of this facility will be a tremendous asset to our city. It will provide a safe, accessible, and healthy environment for residents of all ages to enjoy. From swim lessons for children to recreational opportunities for families and seniors, and an additional training venue for competitive swimmers and triathletes, the addition of the fresh water pool this summer will be especially timely given the upcoming maintenance at the YMCA pool.

I hope that you will be holding an information session soon for interested stakeholders, (such as local triathletes, Tour de Trout swimmers, North Bay Titans, local educators from Nipissing, Canadore and local high schools, local emergency services and other groups that will use the facility), so that they can preview the proposed design, and make any recommendations to provide the most effective and functional user experience before the design is finalized. I look forward to attending such a session.

Your dedication to enhancing the quality of life in our city is truly appreciated. The time, resources, and planning that went into making this project a reality have not gone unnoticed, and I am grateful for your commitment to investing in spaces that bring people together.

Thank you once again for your leadership and for making this wonderful amenity available to us all. I look forward to trying it out!
