It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Deborah Kim MacGillivray (nee Foster) on Saturday April 26th, 2025, age 68, with her husband by her side, as he has been for the last 50 years.
Beloved wife of Kenneth MacGillivray. Loved and cherished mother to her only daughter, Ramona Valenti (Dave) and children Jaden and Drea Valenti.
Deborah is predeceased by her parents Reginald and Gloria Foster (nee Hubble) and her mother-in-law, whom she lovingly referred to as ‘Mom’, Alberta Clarice MacGillivray.
She leaves behind her siblings, Patti Peeters, Shelagh Latulippe, Randy Tighe, and Sherri Hayward of Peterborough, Ontario. Sister-in-law Judy Fullerton (Grant), niece and nephew, Kristin and Jeff Brown. Brother-in-law Andrew MacGillivray.
She also leaves behind her closest friends, Fleurette, Collette, Henrietta, and Noella.
Many thanks to all the Phara Personal Support Staff, the 400 Club Staff, along with Paramed Nursing Staff (Chloe), the hospital staff on D3 and the ICU care team. Nurse Practitioner Shannon Clossen, Dr. Patel, Dr. Tuomi, Dr. Jinnah and Dr. Hooda who provided not only exceptional care, but true compassion to Deborah and her entire family.
In keeping with her spirit of kindness and generosity, we ask that a donation to North Bay Regional Health Centre or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice be made to honour her legacy.
As per Deborah’s wishes, no formal funeral will be held. A spring interment will take place.
Her charm, wittiness, sarcasm, and her love of life will stay with us for the remainder of our days.
