Dokis School project receives WWF Funding

Dokis First Nation’s Kikendawt Kinoomaadii Gamig is one of sixty schools across the country receiving WWF-Canada Go Wild grants.
Officials say the grants are valued between $1,500 and $3,000 and support student activities to protect or restore nature in schoolyards, campuses and communities.
The project in Dokis involves Indigenous food sovereignty.
Since 2015, the program has provided nearly 600 schools with more than $520,000.
Officials say Go Wild applications are accepted every fall, with projects taking place throughout the following year.
