Dorothy Anita (nee Brown) (Roberts) Gosselin
Suddenly at home on August 4, 2026.
Born on June 7, 1938 in Buffalo, New York. Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Mary (nee Carr) Brown and William Norrad Brown. Upon the sudden passing of her dear father the family returned to their roots in Boiestown, New Brunswick. A few years later her mother Mary married Eugene (Chub) Clowater who became Dorothy’s stepfather
Dorothy joined the RCAF at the age of 17 and after basic training was posted to North Bay, Ontario where she lived for the remainder of her life. Dorothy had many different careers over her life but the one she loved the most was at the Voyageur Hotel as a barmaid.
Dorothy was always very imaginative and creative - she had a great talent for drawing and got in trouble for drawing caricatures of her teachers. She loved to design costumes and probably should have been in the theatre. She used her 4 younger sisters as her victims - oops I meant models. She was blessed with a great sense of humour which showed up in many parts of her life. She had a great love for all animals but especially her cats and she has passed that love onto her daughter Jeannine.
Dorothy is predeceased by her ex husband Robbie Roberts and her husband of many years George (Goose) Gosselin. Her mother Mary Brown/Clowater, her father William Norrad Brown, her stepfather Eugene (Chub) Clowater. Also by her two much loved brothers Arthur William (Bill) Brown of Ottawa and Patterson (Pat) Carr Brown of Mississauga and her brother-in-law Garry Thody (Linda) of London, ON
Dorothy is survived by her wonderful daughter Jeannine Anne Roberts & son-in-law Mike Dexter of Nepean, ON.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by her sisters: Linda (Brown) Thody of London, ON - Ellen (Brown) Scott (King) of London - Wilma (Clowater) Smith (Gord) of Rockwood, ON - Lanie (Clowater) Elliott (Bob) of Shelburne, ON. She will be lovingly remembered by all her nieces and nephews
A private celebration of life will be held for family members at a future date
