It is with great sympathy that Laurette’s family announce her passing at the Algonquin Nursing Home on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024. Laurette was the beloved wife of the late Roland Asselin, she was 88 years old. Loving mother of Sharon Allard (Pierre), Mike Downey (Lynne), Brian Downey (Jill), Charlene Dupuis (Joffre), Frank Downey (Suzanna), Susan Cotnam (Bob), and predeceased by Bob Mercier (Ginette) and Marc Mercier (Karry). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Yves, Denis, Jamie, Ryan, Megan, Chris, Jodi, Melissa, Makenzie, Cassidy, Steven, Mark, Derek, Joseé, Brianne, Jesse, her great-grandchildren Nathan, Carson, Jacob, Mathew, Morgan, Aiden, Aynsley, Brooke, Owen, Logan, Maeve, Domonic, Declan, Xavier, Zachaey, Ivy, Scarlet, Hazel, and great great-grandchildren Cooper, Ollier, Jackson, Reed and Amelia. Laurette was predeceased by her parents Edmond and Cecilia Gravelle and by her siblings Zenon, Leo, Lionel, Ronald, Aldage, Claudia, Jeneva, Beatrice, Edgar, and Denis. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews who cared for her dearly. A Celebration oof Laurette’s life will be held on June 22nd, 2024 in Mattawa (more details will be shared later).

The family would like to thank Dr. Williams for the care he provided to our mom. Laurette’s family also wants to express its sincere gratitude to the Algonquin Nursing Home staff for their outstanding care and compassion.
