Downtown North Bay Hosts Scavenger Hunt & Decades Window Competition

Downtown North Bay & Waterfront invites families to head downtown on Saturday, August 2nd, for a playful afternoon of discovery, nostalgia, and community spirit during the Summer Scavenger Hunt, running from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Children and their families are encouraged to start their adventure at Junior World (193 Main Street East), where they can pick up a clue sheet. From there, participants will follow prompts leading them into various downtown businesses, uncovering surprises along the way.
The first 50 children to complete the hunt will receive a colourful pinwheel, a free ride ticket for the Heritage Train or Carousel, and special offers from local merchants. The event is held in conjunction with North Bay’s Homecoming weekend, offering a fun, family-focused way to explore and reconnect with the downtown core.
While downtown, visitors are also encouraged to take in the Decades Window Competition—a creative showcase where businesses have transformed their storefronts to reflect styles from past eras. Shoppers and scavenger hunters alike can vote for their favourite display by scanning the QR codes posted at participating locations.
“As part of the Homecoming event, Downtown North Bay invites families to come and take part in the Summer Scavenger Hunt on August 2nd, as well as vote on the Decades themed windows for our business competition,” says Amber Livingstone, Executive Director of Downtown North Bay. Both activities aim to celebrate community pride and encourage residents and visitors to support local businesses during the long weekend festivities.
