Dozen local companies heading to world’s ‘premier’ mining convention
More than 110 exhibitors, including several locally, are part of the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase at this year’s Prospectors and Developer’s Association of Canada conference.
The annual event takes place March 1-4, in Toronto.
Officials say it’s the world’s premier mineral exploration & mining convention, bringing in more than 27,000 attendees from over 125 countries.
A dozen companies from North Bay are part of this year’s showcase.
They include everything from mining contractors and equipment services to manufacturers, and more.
Federal officials say the northern pavilion has nearly tripled in size since launching in 2015.
They add it has helped participating businesses create more than 900 jobs and generate over $100 million in increased sales and exports.
