Driver charged after OPP say municipal worker struck in Bonfield
Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 62-year-old Bonfield resident after a municipal worker was struck by a pickup truck.
The OPP says officers responded Friday around 1:30 pm to reports a municipal worker suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Laurier Street in Bonfield, adding the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.
They say at the time, the victim was doing road construction work.
A suspect vehicle was identified, with the driver located a short time later at a nearby property and arrested without incident.
Charges include fail to remain, careless driving causing bodily harm, fail to report accident and driving without insurance.
The accused has a court appearance at a later date in North Bay.
