Daylight Drug Deal in Fisher St Parking Lot
As the accused was getting back into his vehicle, he was arrested by police. Officers attempted to stop a second vehicle that was involved in the incident, however it fled the scene at a high rate of speed, heading southbound on highway 11.
As a result of an ongoing drug investigation, on March 26th, at approximately 5:30 pm, members of the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit, observed a drug transaction in a Fisher Street parking lot. As the accused was getting back into his vehicle, he was arrested by police. Officers attempted to stop a second vehicle that was involved in the incident, however it fled the scene at a high rate of speed, heading southbound on highway 11. The lone occupant of the fleeing vehicle was identified, however police did not pursue, due to the risk to public safety. The accused was transported to North Bay Police Service headquarters, where he was processed and further searches were conducted. The vehicle he was operating was seized by police. The investigation is continuing.
Street Crime Unit makes Arrest, Seizes $31k in Drugs and a Vehicle
Officers from the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit, arrested and charged a 46-year-old male with drug trafficking offences, on March 26th, 2024. As a result of the investigation, over $31,000 in drugs and a vehicle were seized.
The accused in this matter is: Kristopher Lee BURTON, age 46, of North Bay, who is charged with: Six counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, One count of Trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance, One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
In total, searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
· A silver 2014 Kia Sorento
· Approximately 30.7 grams of suspected Fentanyl
· Approximately 120.4 grams of suspected Cocaine
· Approximately 89.8 grams of suspected Crystal Meth
· 683 Methamphetamine pills
· 28 Percocet pills
· 16 - N-100 Morphine pills
· 34 - 12mg Hydromorphone pills
· $90 in Canadian currency
· A digital scale
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $31,315.00
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
