Evelyn McLellan

Mom was called into the arms of the Lord on Monday September 1, 2025, while at NBRHC Spruce Grove Cartier Site in North Bay at the age of 92.  Cherished Mother of John (Pam)  and predeceased by her sons Paul, Peter, Billy, David, Michael, and Mark.  Survived by her daughter in laws Sue and Mitze.   

Left to mourn are her grandchildren Chad (Mandy), Kari -Lynn (Jeff), Kristi (Marc), Laurie, Ashley, Karen (Max) Tayler (Sarah), Kyle, Matt & Carter.  Predeceased by grandson Trevor.  Loved by Great-grandchildren Chloe, Logan, Abigail, Julia, Haili, Jenna, Nathan, Zorion, Felix, Khloe, Juno, Walker, Emma and Ethan.

Born In Pembroke, Ontario she was the beloved daughter of the late William T. O’Hara and Isabella (Vaillancourt). Also predeceased by brother Jimmy and sisters Irene and Lorraine.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.  She had a special place in her heart for her niece Paula Burchart of Pembroke who she referred to as the daughter she never had and for Maddi Moreau who she had a unique and close relationship with for many years in North Bay. 

Evelyn was a proud Mother of 7 Boys who were her pride and joy.  She enjoyed greeting her many customers at M&M Tobacco and Variety for over 25 years in the downtown core.  She was a founding member in the 1970’s of the North Bay Chapter of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS).  She spent many Saturdays’ dancing the night away at the Golden Age Centre.  She will also be missed by her many friends with the local Bonny Belles / Red Hat Society where she was Honourary Queen Scarlett O’Hara.   Her deep faith was a source of strength throughout her life.  She was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Church and was often found singing in the choir and serving with the CWL.

Cremation has taken place.  A catholic mass will be held on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 11am at St. Peter the Apostle Church.
