Evelyn Reid

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend

April 22, 1936 - August 15, 2024.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Reid, who left this world peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Evelyn was a beacon of love, kindness, and warmth, touching the lives of everyone she met. She was surrounded by family and love in her final days.

Evelyn was the cherished wife of John Reid, and a devoted mother to Kevin Reid (Kelly Reid) and her late daughter, Sharon. She was a proud grandmother to Santana (Warren Turner), the late Davin Reid, Matthew, Isabella, Brooke (Danny), and Tessa (Cody). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Preston, Kyla, Karah, Kayleigh, Arya, Easton, Gianna, and newly born Bryson, who will carry her spirit forward. Evelyn was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Evelyn was also a beloved sister to Myrtle and Helen (deceased at birth). She was the devoted daughter of Bertha and Leo Daley.

For many years, Evelyn was employed as the Executive Officer with the North Bay Real Estate Board, a role she thoroughly enjoyed and in which she made lasting contributions to the community.

Evelyn was an active and beloved member of her church community, where her faith and dedication inspired those around her. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Women’s League, serving as both president and regional president for many years. Her leadership and commitment were a guiding force, and she made a lasting impact on all who worked with her.

In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed walking, curling, and reading. She loved to travel, especially with her family, cherishing the special moments shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a deep affection for her cat, Lucky, who was her favorite pet for many years and brought her great comfort and companionship. Evelyn had a unique ability to bring joy to those around her, always able to put a smile on everyone’s face. Her kindness and warmth left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was loved by many, and her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and community.

Family receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Rd, on Tuesday August 20th from 9 am until time of service at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society or Holy Name of Jesus Church in her honor.

Evelyn will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
