Familiar face fills Ward 6 vacancy in West Nipissing

The Ward 6 vacancy has been filled on West Nipissing Council.

Roland Larabie was welcomed back to the seat during a special meeting of council last week.

Ward 6, representing residents of River Valley, Kipling, Desaulniers and surrounding areas had been declared vacant on August 13, 2024, following Councillor Anne Tessier’s resignation.

Officials say Larabie steps into this role with years of experience, having previously served two terms as the Ward 6 Councillor.

“I’m eager to get back to work, to look after the community’s interests, and to collaborate with other members of this Council,” says Larabie.

At Thursday’s meeting, Council members unanimously voted on a by-law to appoint Larabie.
