Fatal crash Saturday in Sturgeon Falls
Ontario Provincial Police report a 73-year-old Sturgeon Falls resident has died after a collision involving a pickup truck and a mobility scooter on Saturday.
Police and emergency crews responded to the crash just after 9 pm on Highway 17 near Landfill Road in West Nipissing.
They say the operator of the mobility scooter was taken to hospital and later pronounced deceased, while the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and was not injured.
Highway 17 was closed for about five hours after the collision, with the investigation ongoing.
