Fewer advance votes and polls compared to 2022

By Richard Coffin

Just over 5,100 people in Nipissing voted in the three days of advance polls for the provincial election.

Elections Ontario says that’s 7.96% of registered voters in the riding.

It’s down from the 2022 provincial election when just over 10,650 people in Nipissing voted over ten days of advance polls.

Across Ontario, preliminary figures show 678,789 voters cast their ballot in the advance polls this year.

That’s 6.14% of eligible voters in Ontario.

It’s also down from the last election, by over 387,000 votes.

Election Day is Thursday with the polls open from 9 am to 9 pm.

Total voter turnout in 2022 in Nipissing was 30,900 or 48.29%.
