Firearm Seized at a Local Hotel

North Bay Police Service (NBPS) members, including the Emergency Response Team (ERT), responded to a call on August 24, 2025 reporting a firearm located inside a room at the Quality Inn Hotel on Seymour Street.
“Officers responded swiftly to a potentially dangerous situation,” states Insp. McFarlane. “Through effective use of patience, negotiations, and teamwork, the incident was resolved safely without harm to anyone involved.”
As a result of this investigation, one individual has been charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Common Nuisance
To ensure the safety of the public and hotel guests, the premises were temporarily evacuated while NBPS officers secured the scene. The accused was taken into custody without incident, and a firearm was seized.
The NBPS extends its appreciation to the public and hotel staff for their cooperation and patience during this event.
There is no further risk to public safety.
