Team 1305 Supporting the Children & Adolescent Mental Health Unit
FIRST Robotics Team 1305 installed their refurbished Hospital Interactive Coin Operated Lego Contraption this weekend. Longtime supporters of the North Bay Regional Health Centre, this high school aged robotics team is committed to giving back to their community.
New team member, Katie, says, “I’m amazed at how much 1305 does for the community. Every time I turn around I’m learning about new team initiatives. 1305 is a good opportunity for new students to connect with people. They are genuinely welcoming!”
Visitors to the space themed Lego contraption, situated in the hospital’s second floor lounge, can put any denomination coin into the slot and get to enjoy a little show. All proceeds from the contraption go to the hospital’s Children and Adolescent Mental Health Unit. So far, the team has raised over $5000 for this worthy cause.
Tammy Morison, President & CEO, North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation shares, “We are so pleased to accept this innovative and ingenious structure that has been refreshed and restored. It will continue to create an area of interest and wonder for visitors of all ages.”
The team has been working hard to prepare for their next two competitions in Newmarket March 8 to 10, and then at Nipissing University March 22 to 24. They are very thankful for the gracious support of their community.
