By Richard Coffin

The Ministry of Natural Resources has extended a series of flood-related advisories in the district until next Tuesday.

That includes a flood warning for southern areas of the Sturgeon, Upper Ottawa and French watersheds.

Meantime, a flood watch is in effect for the Upper Ottawa River between Lake Timiskaming and the east boundary of Papineau-Cameron, including Mattawa.

Officials also say a flood outlook water conditions statement is in place in northern areas of the Sturgeon and Upper Ottawa-Kipawa watersheds.

Residents in all of those areas are advised to keep a close watch on conditions and exercise caution around lakes, rivers, creeks and streams.
