Four decades of Low Income People Involvement
Low Income People Involvement (L.I.P.I.) of Nipissing is marking a milestone.
Forty years ago, a small group of single mothers came together to create the non-profit organization, which is dedicated to supporting low-income individuals and families in the district.
L.I.P.I. is inviting the community to join the celebration and visit their tent at the North Bay Farmer’s Market on Wednesday, or stop by its office at 127 Main Street East, between 1-3 p.m.
“L.I.P.I. is proud to celebrate 40 years of community service and advocacy,” says Lana Mitchell, Executive Director. “This milestone reflects the dedication of the individuals, volunteers, staff, partners and community members who have supported our work over the years.”
Officials say through its programs and services, L.I.P.I. empowers individuals and families to move forward while responding to the needs of vulnerable community members with dignity, respect and compassion.
