FOWLER, Beatrice (Bea)

FOWLER, Beatrice (Bea)

Passed away on January 18, 2026 in her 103rd year. Dear wife of the late Ralph. Loving mother of Rod (Aline), Nancy (John) and Fay.

Predeceased by brother Joseph (late Ida) and infant sister Rita. Cherished Mama Bea to grandchildren Marty, Rick, Allison (late Jamie), Chantal (John), Sean (Eden); and to great grandchildren Mitchell, Parker, Tristan, Elizabeth, Nate, Isaac and Lily.

We would like to thank Lisa and her family, as well as Colleen, for all their kindness and care during Mom’s final years in Mattawa, the town where she had grown up. Bea was the heart and soul of our family and it remained her greatest love throughout her life.

Wherever the family home happened to be throughout the years, the welcome mat was always out for visits and meals—both planned and impromptu—for family and friends, none of which ever fazed her. We all enjoyed Mom’s cinnamon buns which were legendary and disappeared as soon as they were out of the oven! And who can forget the many lively and memorable kitchen parties which were hosted at our place.

In her spare time, Bea spent many happy hours knitting, from first learning to turn a heel on a pair of socks at the age of six to knitting over 174 Mary Maxim sweaters. However, old-time dancing remained her first passion starting from an early age and extending to her 100th Birthday Celebration. It was to Mom that the next generations turned to in order to learn the intricacies of these special dances.
Bea was also known for her engaging storytelling and enjoyed reminiscing and sharing her childhood and family memories and what life was like so many years ago, tales which were often woven into everyday conversations with those around her.

Faith remained a constant throughout her life and provided an unfailing source of strength and comfort for her.

Though deeply missed, she will leave behind many cherished memories and a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Mom, we know your dance card will be full as you join the next party in heaven.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Anne’s Church, Mattawa, Ontario at 11 a.m. on January 24, 2026. Reception to follow.

Donations to St Joseph’s Oratory, Montreal are appreciated.
