Frances Wanda Cooke
Cooke, Frances Wanda (nee Pushak) (at the age of 92) Passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Saturday August 23, 2025. Predeceased by her husband, Robert Clarence Cooke. Mother to Barb (Jim), Elizabeth and Wayne. Grandmother to Kevin, Lindsey, David (Katherine), Samantha (Eli), Zackery and Madison. Great Grandmother to Lila, Hazel, Serena, Bergen and Casey. Survived by her brother, John Pushak of Camrose Alberta.
Frances was a strong, independent woman. At the age of 91 she was still cutting her own grass and shoveling the snow. She enjoyed reading, making barbie doll clothes, solving crossword puzzles and sudoku. She will be fondly remembered by her great grandchildren as Barbie Grandma, she would always send them home with a barbie in hand.
In her later years, Frances had the good fortune of the companionship of Harvey Norman, a true and valued family friend. Frances also provided a home for Zackery, her grandson, which allowed her to remain in her home as her health deteriorated.
A memorial visitation will be held at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Road, North Bay Ont. On September 4, 2025 from 10 to 12 am. (in lieu of flowers, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated)
