Fraud prevention presentations set for Port Loring and Callander

Area residents are getting the chance to learn more about current fraud-related scams and strategies to prevent fraud.

Seminars are being hosted by the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, in partnership with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

One takes place Thursday, April 9 (1 pm) in Port Loring at the Legion Hall with another on Sunday, April 12 (1 pm) at the Callander Community Centre.

Officials say fraud continues to impact individuals and families across Ontario, particularly seniors and vulnerable populations.

Those taking in the free presentations will learn more about common and emerging fraud schemes, guidance on how to protect themselves, and clear direction on where and how to report suspected fraud.

People of all ages are encouraged to attend.
