Fundraiser for new mammography machine at WNGH reaches $125,000

It’s a fundraising milestone for the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation.
Officials say the “Our Community, Our Health, Our Future – Double Your Impact with Caisse Alliance” campaign has seen $25,000 raised by the community since it launched in mid-April.
Funds are going towards the purchase of a new mammography machine.
With Caisse donating $75,000 at the start of the campaign, and matching up $25,000, it brings the fundraising total to $125,000.
However, officials say there’s still a way to go to reach their $450,000 goal.
“This first $125,000 puts us off to a strong start, but we still need the help of our community to make this life-saving equipment a reality,” says Dawn Morissette, President and CEO of West Nipissing General Hospital. “Mammography is one of the most important tools we have for the early detection of breast cancer, and ensuring access to high-quality imaging close to home is non-negotiable.”
Caisse Alliance officials say reaching the matching goal they had has given momentum to the fundraising campaign.
“This project is close to our hearts because it directly impacts the well-being of our community,” says Alexandre Laferriere, Assisted Operations & Transactions Manager at Caisse Alliance, Sturgeon Falls Branch. “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to help us, ‘double our impact’.”
Donations can be made online via the hospital’s website or in person.
