Gabriele (Gabe) Giovanni Berardi
Passed away at home with the love of his life, Anna, after a 2-year battle with lung cancer.
Born on August 9th, 1954, in Ofena, Italy, Gabriele was the son of the late Alfredo and Antonietta Berardi.
He married Anna on June 22, 1974, and raised three boys: Paolo (Chrys), Carlo (deceased), Christopher (deceased), and their faithful furry companion, Bobo, that would never leave his side.
Survived by his brother Nick (Rina); brother-in-law Luigi (Chantal); brother-in-law Frank (Sophia); and sister-in-law Rina.
To Gabe, family came first. Gabe was a very talented man, built two of his homes with the help of his love Anna. He took pride in everything he did, had great woodworking skills, and was a perfectionist in everything he did.
One of Gabe’s greatest joys was fishing. He went on countless adventures with his buddies. He also enjoyed road trips with his wife and the boys across Canada and the USA, motorcycle trips with Anna and Paolo, and took part in the Dice Run for MDA/C to raise money for muscular dystrophy in honour of their boys.
He also worked at the North Bay General Hospital for 37 years and was a very dedicated worker.
We would like to thank Dr. Masters, Dr. Malone, Dr. Nelson for their support, compassion, and dedication. The Chemo Unit at the North Eastern Health Centre and the VON for all their support.
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Donations in his memory can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the North Bay Regional Health Centre (Cancer Care).
