Genevieve Gagne
We lost our precious Mom on Wednesday January 29, 2025, at the young age of 91 years old. Mom passed while in the arms of our brother. Mom was the beloved wife of the late Maurice Gagné, and the loving mom to Francine Gagné (Scott), Ginette Marleau (Garry), Joanne Gauthier (Reg), Paulette Girard (late Ron), Richard Gagné (Jennifer), and Guy Gagné. She was the sweetest Nana to Crystal, Maurice, Harley, Julien, Gary Jr., Andrew, Amanda, Christopher, late Eric, Guy Jr. & Jason, and great-grandmother to many great grandchildren.
She is the baby of the family and was the only one remaining in the family. She is predeceased by all of her siblings Caroline (Raymond), Lucienne (Aurel), Moise (Vivianne), Rev. Henri Degagné and Cléophase (Mignone)as well as her parents Elas Degagné and Febrinie (née Gauthier) Degagné.
Mom was a lady that everyone loved. She was kind, loving and most definitely great to be around. If you knew her you were lucky to have crossed paths. The mother that everyone wishes they had. She was the perfect mom and housewife. Losing dad young made it really hard on her and she always struggled with this, but she made the best of it.
There are a few nurses that definitely need recognition who always went over and beyond for Mom. Carole, Joanne, Lynda and Ropa. My apologies if I missed a couple but please know you are recognized. We grew a bond with you because you were always there for Mom, and some would even come in on your days off to see how she was doing. We cannot express what that meant to us.
Dr. Gushe, well this man is a hero. He went over and beyond many times for us, giving us access to our mom when things were difficult. He never once hesitated to be there when I reached out to him and was there long before he was needed. He loved mom with his own heart and was there to take my calls and texts at any hour of the day. Never hesitate. Thank you so much Doctor for being there.
As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held in the summer. If desired, donations to the Canadian Kidney Foundation, or Canadian Mental Health and Addictions would be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
