Getting ready for a couple upcoming celebrations at the waterfront
We’re learning more about upcoming Armed Forces Day and Canada Day celebrations in North Bay.

Both are on the council agenda Tuesday night.
Armed Forces Appreciation Day is being held on Wednesday, June 10.

21 Aerospace Control and Warning Squadron has requested a letter of support from the city to allow for the CF-18 Tactical Demonstration Team, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, a CC-130J Hercules and a US Air Force F-16 or F-35 to fly over the city.
The Skyhawks Parachute Team will also be performing, with a CH-147 Chinook or CH-146 Griffon landing at the Waterfront Marina.
Free daytime activities also include performances from the 22 Wing Band, static displays, and more.

Three weeks later, on July 1, a variety of entertainment and activities marking Canada’s 159th birthday will also take place at the waterfront.
Officials say Canada Day typically draws over 7,000 people with entertainment, carousel and train rides, a KidZone, Centennial Zone, museum exhibit, vendors, and fireworks lined up.
A noise bylaw exemption is up for a vote at council on Tuesday night.
