Gilles Pleau

Au Centre régional de santé de North Bay, le 27 août 2025, est décédé M. Gilles Pleau à l’âge de 84 ans. Fils de feu Dominique et de feue Auréa (Lamoureux), frère de feue Yvette (feu François Legault), de feu André (Suzanne Rivard), de Thérèse (Armand Forgette) et de Marcel. Époux de feue Lorraine Leblanc, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Richard (Nancy Whyte), Daniel (Sandra Santos) et Chantal (Daniel Dubé), ses petits-enfants Yannick, Danika et Maxime Pleau, Martin, Simon et Julien Dubé ainsi que Ashley Pereira et ses enfants Nathan, Adrianna, Atia et Jordi Passmore.
Diplômé de l’université Ryerson en chimie, il a œuvré comme chimiste avant d’enseigner au secondaire à North Bay et à Sturgeon Falls. Il a profité de sa retraite pour explorer à fond la généalogie de la famille Pleau d'Amérique du Nord, à prendre soin de ses petits enfants et à construire la route la plus longue.
La famille aimerait remercier le personnel médical et soignant de l’hôpital régional de North Bay.
La famille recevra parents et amis à l'Établissement funéraire Hillside le samedi 13 septembre de 12h00 à 14h00. Une célébration de sa vie aura lieu à 13h00.

At the North Bay Regional Health Centre, on August 27, 2025, Mr. Gilles Pleau passed away at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his parents Dominique and Auréa (Lamoureux), his siblings Yvette (François Legault) and André (Suzanne Rivard) and his wife Lorraine Leblanc. He leaves behind his children Richard (Nancy Whyte), Daniel (Sandra Santos), and Chantal (Daniel Dubé), as well as his grandchildren Yannick, Danika, and Maxime Pleau and Martin, Simon and Julien Dubé, Ashley Pereira and her children Nathan, Adrianna and Atia and Jordi Passmore. He also leaves behind his other siblings Thérèse (Armand Forgette) and Marcel.
A graduate of Ryerson University in chemistry, he worked as a chemist before teaching high school in North Bay and Sturgeon Falls. He enjoyed his retirement by delving deeply into the genealogy of the Pleau family of North America, caring for his grandchildren and building the longest road.
The family would like to thank the medical and caregiving staff at the North Bay Regional Hospital.
Family receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services on Saturday September 13th form 12 pm until 2 pm. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 pm.
