Bernard Giroux (1944-2024)

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Bernard Giroux, on January 3rd 2024. Bernard was predeceased by his parents Solange and Eugénie (Gagné).  He leaves behind his beloved wife Denise (Vandal), father of Guylaine Piché (Charles), Mélanie Giroux (Henry), Stéphane Giroux, and grandfather to Xavier and Conrad. He will be missed by his sisters Sr. Rhéa, Sr. Desneiges, Louise Ménard (late Henri), Simone Lemay (André), Yolande Houle (Marcel), and brother Yvan (Rachel), his sisters-in-law Nicole Vandal, Lucie Vandal-Parent (late Louis), brother-in-law Raymond Vandal (Monique) and many nieces and nephews.

Although he will be greatly missed, memories of Bernard will forever accompany us.  His generosity, community service, his work as a teacher at école secondaire catholique Algonquin, along with is devotion to his charitable work, including his volunteer work as a Knight of Columbus made him a man who was loved, appreciated.

We thank his friend Benoit for his presence and support as well as the staff and volunteers at Nipissing Serenity Hospice.

The family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Home on Thursday January 11th between 2 pm and 4 pm and again from 6 pm until 8 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday January 12th at 11 am at Saint-Vincent-de-Paul church.
