Give Unwanted Items a Second Life on Goods Exchange Day

Give Unwanted Items a Second Life on Goods Exchange Day

North Bay residents are invited to take part in the City’s next Goods Exchange Day on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The biannual event is an opportunity to keep usable household items out of the landfill by passing them along to someone who can use them.

Residents can participate in two ways: set out usable, unwanted items at the curb of their residence for others to take, or browse their neighbourhood for items they can put to use. Furniture, small appliances, books, toys, sporting equipment, kitchenware and other household items in good condition are among the items typically exchanged.

Items should be placed at the curb after 8 a.m. on Saturday and any remaining items must be removed by 6 p.m.

There is no special collection of leftover items. Residents are responsible for removing anything that remains at the curb at the end of the day.
