Glen Holliday
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father Glen Holliday on June 29, 2024.
Our dad was known for the smile on his face at all times. He was the father, uncle, friend and grandpa that everyone wanted to be around. Always had a joke or a shoulder for whoever needed it. His door was always open and everyone could count on him being there for all the ups and downs in our lives. He made friends everywhere he went and left a lasting impact on all who met him.
A dedicated man who was always ready to give back to the community and help when needed. His love of sports led him to coaching soccer for years, never missing a weekend of watching golf and just getting out there and playing a round or just spending time playing pool with friends. Whatever it was, he was completely invested.
He was the proud father to Dale (Jacqueline), and Kim (John). He loved being a grandpa to Justin (Amie), Cody (Selina), Larissa (Eric), Brady (Vanessa), Reagan, Maxtin, Katie and a great grandpa to Lium, Cameron, Owen, Conner, Stryder, Avelynn, Paulo and Addisyn.
Born in MacGregor Manitoba (1942) to Carl and Nell Holliday, then moved to North Bay with his family when he was 17 years old. From there he joined the military which brought him to Germany. While on leave in Ireland he met the love of his life, May. In 1966, he brought her home and they were married. Together they raised two children and spent the next 52 years together. They are now together again.
Glen is survived and greatly missed by his siblings Irv (Sue) and Nancy (John), his favourite niece "Shannon Nicole" plus cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Predeceased by his wife May (2018), parents Carl and Nell Holliday, and son in law Ken Meir.
A celebration of life will be held in his honour on July 20th in Redbridge, 25 Northriver Rd at the Golden Age for all who wish to
