Goulard Park ball fields temporarily closed for upgrades
By Brad Aubin
The Municipality of West Nipissing says the redevelopment project at the Goulard Park Baseball Fields is currently underway.
Fencing is in place, and officials say with the fields now being an active construction zone, access will be prohibited for safety reasons.
Last May, the town was announced as one of the Blue Jays Care Foundation Field of Dreams recipient – which saw them receive $149,000 in funding to support the revitalization of the diamonds.

The Town says work is happening on both fields, and that includes infield upgrades, as well as new lighting, dugouts, bleachers, fencing and more.
Though weather dependent, the anticipated official first pitch is set to be end of June or mid July.
The Town adds user groups will use the fields at Richelieu and Pie XII, and for bookings or inquiries, you can contact the Recreation Department at 705-753-0160.
