Grant helps continue growth of Caisse Alliance’s LIFE program
A Caisse Alliance program that supports people facing difficulties, including victims of intimate partner violence, is being honoured.
The new Leap Into Financial Empowerment (LIFE) program has been recognized by Equitable Bank and Concerta as a ‘choice project of the year’.
The distinction comes with a $50,000 grant.
“This cooperative gesture will support our efforts to grow this new program and increase its opportunities,” says Pierre Dorval, President and CEO of Caisse Alliance. “LIFE is a cooperative program that supports mental health. We're investing here and making a difference with our community partners.”
Officials say the LIFE program began in North Bay and quickly spread to Mattawa, Bonfield, Sturgeon Falls, and Verner.
“We have developed a referral system that offers concrete solutions to support people facing difficulties, including victims of domestic violence,” says Joanne Ferland, the Personal Finance and Wealth Management Advisor who initiated the program. “True to our values, we help these individuals regain control of their finances and lives in a safe and secure environment.”
With support from various community organizations, Caisse Alliance says the program's mission is to help people in need regain balance, autonomy, control, peace of mind, well-being, and quality of life.
