Sahibjot Singh, Charged with Attempt Murder of a North Bay Police Officer
The North Bay Police Service (NBPS) advises that the plea and sentencing hearing for Sahibjot Singh, 20-year-old male of Brampton, ON, is scheduled for Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Superior Court of Justice – North Bay Courthouse, located at 360 Plouffe Street, North Bay, Ontario, P1B 9L5.
The hearing relates to charges stemming from an incident on May 31, 2024, when a NBPS officer on general patrol activated an Automatic License Plate Recognition system, which identified a stolen vehicle. While attempting to stop the vehicle, the accused, fled, reappeared at a parking lot, provided false identification, and drove toward the officer, striking and pinning him between vehicles.
The officer ended up on the ground and the accused then drove toward the officer, who was able to escape. The accused then collided with a police cruiser and another vehicle several times before fleeing again. The vehicle was subsequently located, and after a brief foot pursuit, the accused was arrested, found impaired by drugs, and taken into custody.
