Heavy Police presence overnight in Papineau-Cameron

By Richard Coffin

Ontario Provincial Police say there are no concerns for public safety after a heavy police presence in Papineau-Cameron Township overnight.

Several OPP units, including the Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Crisis Negotiators and others were on the scene near the intersection of Richards Road and Chenier Road.

Officers responded to a call in the area around 10 pm on Wednesday (Dec. 18) with a warrant executed at about 6:30 am Thursday.

The OPP says the police presence has since cleared with all roads reopened.

The investigation continues.
