Hilda Lebel
Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of her family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday August 9, 2026, at the age of 79 years.
Heidi is the beloved wife of the late Jean-Guy Lebel and the loving mother to Dana Lebel (Chris Benard), and Natalie Von Doeler (Shawn). She was the cherished grandmother to Zoë and Kaylee. She is reunited in heaven with her grand-dogs Tyson, Keena, Maggie and Walter and is survived by her grand-dog Bella. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Mai Ward (late Carmen), and Dorothy Melville (late Chris). Heidi is predeceased by her siblings Martin Tessier (late Barb), Maurice Tessier (late Lenora), Cecile Wye (late Clare), Leo Tessier, as well as her parents Albert Tessier and Dora (nee Marion) Tessier.
The baby of the family. Mom was born in Parry Sound, and shortly after, the family moved to Dunchurch where they had a resort that catered to Fishermen from all over. In her early 20’s, Mom travelled throughout Europe and Mexico where many adventures were had and we loved to hear all about them. Mom and Dad met in North Bay, and were married on March 31, 1973.
After their two daughters were born, Mom dedicated her time to our home and always made sure we had our lunch for school. We could always count on Mom to plan the best summer road trips. Mom had a “knack” for finding treasures on her many “Antiquing Trips” and always made sure to tell you all the details about her finds. The last 10 years brought immense joy to Mom, everyday she got to spend with her twin granddaughters.
We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and various support staff that cared for Hilda during her stay at Northern Heights Community and during her most recent admission to the North Bay Regional Hospital, especially the staff of the emergency department and the D3 nursing unit.
As per Heidi’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday August 20, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Friday August 21, 2026, at 10:00 am.
If desired, donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
