Suspect Wanted - Following Vehicle Theft on Main Street West

On October 2, 2025, at approximately 8:32 p.m., North Bay Police Service (NBPS) responded to a call with a vehicle stolen outside the CIBC on Main Street West in North Bay.

The vehicle owner had briefly entered the bank, leaving the vehicle running. Despite the key fob being in the owner’s possession while they were inside, the suspect gained access through an unlocked door. As the owner returned, the grey 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz, was observed being driven away along Main Street toward Fisher Street.

NBPS located and recovered the vehicle a short distance away near the intersection of Oak Street and Wyld Street.

The suspect is described as a male wearing a dark/black hoodie, jeans, a green backpack, and a ball cap worn backwards.

“This was a crime of opportunity,” commented Inspector McFarlane. “The suspect acted quickly taking less than a minute from the time the vehicle owner exited the vehicle to when the suspect drove off. We urge the community to remain vigilant and ensure vehicles are secured at all times.”

NBPS is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Investigators are requesting that anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage from the area of Main Street East, Fisher Street, Oak Street, or Wyld Street around the time of the incident contact police.

Anyone with information, including dash cam footage or CCTV, is asked to contact the NBPS non-emergency line at 705-472-1234.

For those wishing to remain anonymous, tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at nearnorthcrimestoppers.com.
