Ice Follies in the New Year

Ice Follies in the New Year

By Richard CoffinTuesday, Dec. 24th, 2024

Ice Follies is returning in February and it’s expanding.

Along with bringing large-scale art installations, performances, and community-focused projects to the North Bay Waterfront, there will be events and activities on Trout Lake’s Olmstead Beach, too.

The festival, which runs Feb. 7-21, also includes artist talks and guided tours.

Events on Trout Lake take place Feb. 15-16.

The theme for the 11th biennial winter art event is Ozhaashikwaa (The Ice Is Slippery) which officials say reflects the challenges of navigating uncertain conditions, celebrating resilience, adaptability, and creativity.

Shabogesic Beach at the North Bay Waterfront is the festival’s main location.
