Infrastructure Rebuild along O'Brien Street

Starting August 12, 2025

North Bay Hydro will begin a full electrical infrastructure rebuild along O'Brien Street, from McKeown Avenue to Airport Road. This capital upgrade aims to improve service reliability, increase system capacity, and support safer maintenance access.

The project includes new pole installations, upgraded conductors, transformer replacements, and removal of aging infrastructure. Daily road closures will be in effect during the construction period, with the road reopening in the evenings.

Local traffic will be allowed to access businesses and/or their property however there will be no through traffic permitted. Construction is expected to be completed by late September.

What’s happening:

• New pole and transformer installation

• Primary/secondary service transfers

• Removal of aging infrastructure

• Temporary rolling road closuresTypical Work hours: 8 AM – 5 PM (Mon–Fri)

Working hours may fluctuate day to day, and closure will reopen after each business day.

Driveway access may be temporarily impacted
