Investigation Results in Arrest and Seizure of Prohibited Firearm
North Bay Police Service (NBPS) has arrested a local man after a prohibited weapon was discovered in a residence.
On June 5, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., members of the NBPS Patrol Section responded to a call for service in the 400 block of Dudley Avenue. During the course of the investigation, officers located and seized a prohibited firearm. The accused was subsequently identified, located, and arrested without incident.
The accused, Kyle EDMISON, 42-year-old, male, of, North Bay, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon or Prohibited Device or Ammuniation
“Prohibited firearms pose a significant threat to both officer safety and the safety of our community,” says A/Deputy Chief Warner. “This investigation highlights the important work of our frontline officers. Their quick actions in locating the firearm and arresting the accused without incident helped prevent the potential for further harm and ensured this dangerous weapon was removed from our community.”
The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
