It’s election day in Ontario

By Richard Coffin

Were only hours away from the end of the snap provincial election.

After four weeks of stump speeches and door-to-door campaigning from the candidates, it’s your turn to have your say.

The polls open from 9 am until 9 pm.

There are six candidates to choose from in Nipissing.

A variety of issues dominated the four-week campaign, including U.S. tariffs, affordability and housing, mental health and addictions, hallway healthcare, northern highways and more.

If you have your voter registration card, Elections Ontario says bring that and a piece of ID with your name on it when you go to your polling place.

If you don’t have a voter registration card, visit Elections Ontario’s website to find out where to vote, and bring ID with both your name and your home address on it.

MyNorthBayNow.com will bring you election results on the air and online once the polls close at 9 pm.

Voter turnout in Nipissing in the last election was 48%.

Nearly 8% of registered voters in the riding took advantage of the three days of advance polls this time around.
